September 6th 2008 -- BOD meeting 7-7:30am. Regular meeting at 8am. Featured speaker will be Collin County Judge Keith Self. Topic: "Collin County Budget for 2008-2009 Fiscal Year". Some folks' eyes start to glaze over when you start talking about budgets, but this is something that directly affects us as citizens of Collin County. So don't miss this opportunity to learn what your county government is up to!
September 19th and 20th, 2008 -- Children's Film Festival. We need as many Lions as possible to greet people both evenings.
September 20th, 2008 -- Featured speaker is Lion Secretary Ken Gleason. This will be the wrap-up meeting for the Independence Day Parade, and the initial planning session for the Christmas Parade.
October 4th, 2008 -- BOD meeting 7-7:30am. Regular meeting at 8am. Program TBD.
October 18th, 2008 -- PR Expert Lion Jeff Crilley (Ennis Lions) will present a program on "Marketing Without Money". Jeff Crilley left TV news after 25 years in the business to start his own PR firm. During his news career, he made hundreds of national news appearances including CNN, CNN Headline News, FOX News, The Discovery Channel, Good Morning America and The CBS Early Show. You won't want to miss this talk. Jeff has a popular demonstration to illustrate one of his points that will have everyone blowing bubbles. No kidding! This is not a lecture, folks. It's the event everyone will be bubbling about. He has been recognized by his peers with dozens of national and regional awards including the Emmy, the National Headliners Award, the Edward R. Murrow Award, the Thurgood Marshall Award and in 2004 was named by the Texas Associated Press, "The Best TV Reporter in the state."
